Start with something useful.
Four strokes, two revolutions
The four-stroke sequence is intake, compression, power, exhaust. One complete cycle takes two crankshaft revolutions, not one.
Valve-event timing varies by engine. Timing is expressed in degrees of crankshaft travel; a stated opening event is not necessarily the fully open position.
Raise pressure before combustion
The turbine-engine compressor raises the pressure of inlet air and supplies air to the combustion section. Pressure increase and fuel burning occur in different sections.
Accessory arrangements differ across engines. Similar functions do not imply identical component names, construction, or service instructions.
